FAQ's
(frequently asked questions)
1. Will Fox Improvements use customer supplied paint?
Absolutely NOT! We're happy to supple our labor ONLY bid with Discounted Paint Provided thru Sherwin-Williams by Fox Improvements. Just keep in mind that if you opt for a labor-only estimate, it will include a warranty as long as the paint is bought thru Fox Improvements. The labor ONLY estimator will include paint prices when labor ONLY is selected on the completed estimate request form.
2. Does the paint type for my project matter?
Yes, the paint type definitely matters! Check out our paint product page on our website for more information. You can even click on any photo to learn why choosing the right paint is important.
3. Can Fox Improvements match the paint color I selected without the free color consultation?
Yes, we can definitely match the paint color you've selected without the need for a free color consultation.
4. Will Fox Improvements provide customers free estimates?
Absolutely! We're happy to provide you with a free online estimate. However, please note that we don't come out to your house for a free estimate. If you'd like us to visit your project site, we do charge a consultation fee. But don't worry, we can still complete a free estimate with pictures and/or videos.
5. What is a consultation?
A consultation is an in-person site visit that we schedule after you've requested an estimate. We charge a one-time fee for the consultation. During the consultation, which can range from 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on the job size, we gather important details such as measurements, photos, videos, specific requirements for walls, ceiling, trim, doors, windows, and more. See our video on the Request Estimate page for more information on a paid consultation.
6. Can a consultation save you money?
Absolutely! A consultation can actually help you save money. By Fox Improvements gathering all the necessary details during the consultation as well as asking all the question's pertaining to your scope, we can provide you with a more accurate estimate and avoid any unexpected costs down the line.
7. Do I need to move the furniture for Fox Improvements?
We kindly ask customers to remove all furniture items near or at the wall/ceiling before we start the project. If the furniture isn't removed beforehand, we'll discuss the best way for us to handle it, but please note that any furniture moving required may result in a change in the estimate price.
8. Are we required to remove the items hung on the wall?
It would be great if customers would remove all hung items from the wall before we start the project. If they're not removed beforehand, we'll work with you to find the best way to handle them and ask for a designated storage location. Please keep in mind that any hung items not pre-removed may result in a change in the estimate price. Please note, when we take before and after pictures, we don't want to show your loved one's or personal information.
9. Will the purchase of your product come with a warranty?
If we supply the materials for your project, we include a one-year warranty on the workmanship. However, please note that we're not responsible for any defective materials.
10. Are two coats of paint required for my painting project?
Not necessarily! The number of coats required for your painting project depends on factors like the previous color, new color, paint selection, and paint application. We'll assess your specific project and recommend the right number of coats for optimal results.
